About me
emma utsi
UX designer and Certified Accessibility Specialist based in Umeå, Sweden.
I specialize in turning complexity into clarity. With a background as a Business Analyst, I bring a strong understanding of both user needs and system logic. I’m used to working at the intersection of business requirements, technical constraints, and real user

How I work
Clarity over complexity
My work often focuses on products with high complexity, where usability, accessibility, and clear interaction design have a direct impact on how effectively people can do their jobs.
What I focus on
Systems, people and impact
Across my projects, I’ve seen that users naturally create workarounds when systems don’t align with their mental models. Because of this, I focus on clarifying structure rather than adding features, designing for real workflows rather than assumptions, and reducing cognitive load through guidance and prioritization.
My approach
From understanding to solutions
I aim to create solutions that feel simple to use, even when the underlying systems are complex. I’m particularly interested in accessibility and inclusive design, not just as a requirement, but as a way to improve usability for all users.
Working with accessibility has reinforced the importance of designing flexible systems that support different needs, contexts, and ways of interacting with technology.
Outside of work
Balance and creativity
Outside of work, I enjoy sewing, going to the gym, gaming and working on creative projects that often exploring the same balance between structure and creativity that I value in design.
